Joint Engagements

Joint Engagements

The various disciplines embraced by the term Forensic Accounting services represent challenging and rewarding fields of practice for CPAs. They also demand practical experience and know-how.

An excellent way for an individual CPA or firm to more quickly establish a specific forensic accounting service capability is to participate with Hal in one or more Joint Engagements.

Joint Engagements offer an invaluable on-the-job-training opportunity, in addition to billable hours and marketing recognition. A Joint Engagement may also be used by CPAs already established in Forensic Accounting in order to expand into new areas, such as Fraud Investigation or Lease Auditing.

Background

Some years ago Hal opted for a professional lifestyle change. No longer did he maintain a permanent staff of professional personnel nor engage in traditional public accounting services. The transition afforded many benefits, not the least of which are challenging and exciting assignments and no more tax seasons.

Many of Hal's engagements, particularly in the area of Economic Damages Assessment, do not require significant accounting/auditing personnel assistance. On manpower intensive assignments he engages specially selected individuals and firms on a contract basis.

It became clear over time that CPA support firms who worked with Hal not only obtained an unparalleled learning experience but that the existing client and contact base of those firms can and should be used day one, with Hal’s help, to generate forensic accounting engagements.

Fraud Investigation, Detection and Prevention services are important and opportune areas of service for CPAs. Hal will be pleased to assist on such engagements anywhere in the United States as your consultant or in a Joint Engagement.

Other applicable service areas include the following: Hidden Assets Detection, Fraudulent Transfer Identification, Economic Damages Assessment and Hal’s version of Lease Auditing.

Interested CPAs and CPA firms are encouraged to speak with Hal about how to generate clients from among the CPA's own contacts within the CPA's geographic operating area. Hal will help to obtain the engagement. Remember, distance is no obstacle to cost effective services.
